Bass lessons in Middlesbrough.

What you can learn.

Get to know the fretboard, develop comfortable fretting and plucking, and build a steady sense of time. Simple bass lines help you hear how each note supports a song.

As you progress, lessons can explore groove, note choice, patterns and playing along with music. If you already play, we’ll focus on the skills that help you feel more assured holding a song together.

Your first bass lesson.

We’ll talk about your favourite music and any experience with bass or another instrument. Together we’ll choose a useful starting point, from your first notes to a bass line you want to improve.

We’ll design your lessons around your goals, interests and experience. Whether you’re learning for fun, building confidence or working towards a performance, the approach can grow with you.

Visit the academy.

Find us at The Annexe, Cargo Fleet Offices, Cargo Fleet, South Bank, Middlesbrough TS6 6XH. Free on-site parking is available.

Do I need my own instrument?

No. We have instruments at the academy for you to use during lessons. You’re welcome to bring your own, but there’s no requirement to do so. If you’re thinking of buying an instrument, we’re happy to offer free advice, whether or not you’re a student with us.
